Value Jet Cup Sponsorship: How the brand is sharing the passion of domestic football with customers

Etihad, Emirates and Turkish Airlines are well known airline brands that have remained glued to football to build brand visibility and loyalty through football sponsorship.

Like the airlines listed above, Nigerian airline brand, Value Jet, has since identified football as a tool to boost its brand appeal by sharing the passion of football with customers.

Football is the biggest sport in Nigeria, and it cuts across age and sex.

As airline partner of Nigeria’s national teams, Value Jet now flies the national teams, making it easier for the teams to excel. The brand played a key role as the Super Falcons won their 1oth Women African Cup of Nations recently.

As a staunch supporter of domestic football in Nigeria, Value Jet, activated the 4th edition of the Value Jet pre-season tournament.

The brand clearly identified football as its preferred sponsorship portfolio before the sponsorship of the national teams was signed.

Organised since 2022, the Value Jet Cup has helped Nigerian clubs prepare for the upcoming season and continental assignments.

2025

The 2025 edition was unique as it offered the quartet of Remo Stars, Rivers Unted, Abia Warriors and Kwara United, that will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League ad CAF Confederation Cup, an opportunity to showcase themselves ahead of their September engagement.

Two others: Shooting Stars Sports Club and last season’s surprise high flying Ikorodu City were also invited by organisers.

It offered fans a unique opportunity to celebrate shared passions the Nigerian way.

New Champions

Against all expectations, Ikorodu City emerged champions to claim their first Value Jet title.

The emergence of the young side as champions confirmed the quality of the competition.

From runners up in 2024 to champions in 2025!
