Premium Trust Bank is using sports to contribute to national development – Emefienim

 

Managing Director of Premium Trust Bank, Mr Emmanuel Emefienim, has revealed that the bank is delighted to be a major contributor to national development since inception in 2022.

Emefienim made this assertion while speaking to sportbusinessbrand.com after the finals of the 2025 Bayelsa State Governor’s Cup, won by Eternal Grace Ministry, in Yenagoa, the state capital, on Friday,

Premium Trust Bank was Lead Sponsor of the competition which is Nigeria’s biggest grassroots tournament.

Interestingly, with increased prize money it also becomes the biggest in terms of prize money offered winners and runners up.

“Our involvement is more of CSR. We are big when it comes to sports and this goes beyond brand awareness.

“Sponsoring the Prosperity Cup is our own way of contributing to national development. It is expensive but we are giving back to the society to support what government is doing”, he said.

Impressed at the performance of teams in both finals and presence of passionate youths who watched the finals to support their favourite teams, he reiterated the importance of engaging youths to get them to discover their talents and be the best.

In his words: “It is important to engage our youths through sports. It’s something we are passionate about. We want them to discover their talents and be the best. It’s important to encourage our youths through sports.

“We are just back from the Gateway Games National Sports Festival, in Ogun State and now discussing with the next host, Enugu State.”

In addition, he applauded Bayelsa State for organizing a great event.

“For us as Lead Sponsor, we are excited with the progress of the competition. We were here last year and happy with the level of improvement.”
