Record 24–0! Gaiters FC Star, Abubakar, scores 10 goals in ruthless FA Cup win

Lesser-known Nigerian side, Gaiters FC, delivered a breathtaking performance to etch their name into the record books with a staggering 24-0 victory, in Nigeria’s FA Cup, in Ogun State, South-West Nigeria, that will be talked about for years to come.

Skipper Omotayo Abubakar scored 10 goals to showcase his exceptional ability in front of goal.

It was 12-0 at Half time and Abubakar delivered a masterclass with four goals in the first half, then added six goals in the second half to put his name in the history books.

The feat has attracted the attention of football clubs and scouts as high flying Nigerian top tier side, Ikorodu City, has offered the player a trial opportunity.

In 31 appearances, Abubakar has recorded an impressive 54 goal contributions, with 40 goals and 14 assists.

His Cup feat might earn him a place in the record books as the first African to score 10 goals in an official match.

With triple hattricks and 24 goals in one match, Abubakar and his teammates, have attracted attention to their young club founded in 2025.
