SPORTS BUSINESS REVIEW: PREMIUMTRUST BANK

Since commencing operations as a Commercial Bank, in April 2022, PremiumTrust Bank is moving across the country to boost its brand presence by opening new branches.

In addition, it has consistently assured Nigerians of its commitment to growth, impacting lives and communities.

In the last two months, the bank has showcased serious commitment to its brand promise.

One of the brand’s strategies is sports sponsorship.

For a new brand, sports sponsorship is a potent strategy to boost brand awareness.

According to a report by www.nielsen.com: “In the sports industry, sponsorship activations have transitioned from simply raising brand awareness to actually converting consumers into customers.”

No brand has made this bullish approach within a short time of its existence like PremiumTrust Bank.

First, it was its sponsorship of Nigeria’s biggest sports fiesta, the National Sports Festival to be hosted by Delta State.

PremiumTrust Bank is the Official Banker of the nation’s sports fiesta.

Managing Director of PremiumTrust Bank, Mr. Emmanuel Emefienim said during the event: “In partnership with the National Sports Festival, Premium Trust Bank is  committed to providing the needed platform to help athletes grow and excel in their chosen fields consistent with our tag line – “Together for Growth”.

From the Sports Festival, the bank moved a step forward with its association with the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN).

Chief Operating Officer of Njlayo Sports Management, Ebidowei Oweifie, recently announced that Premium Trust Bank has become the AFN’s Official Banking Partner.

“Premium Trust Bank has demonstrated dedication to the growth and development of Athletics in the country, as a forward thinking and fast growing brand, we are very confident that this is a collaboration that will transform athletics in Nigeria,” he stated in a statement on August 2.

To further confirm its position as a leading supporter of athletics in Nigeria, the bank sealed endorsement deals with globally recognised athletes, Tobi Amusan and Ese Brume, who shook the world recently.

Amusan started with a bang by setting a world record at the World Athletics Championship, in Oregon, United States of America and took it to another level at the Commonwealth Games, in Birmingham, England, with a Commonwealth Games record.

Like Amusan, Brume also set a Commonwealth Games record.

From a brand awareness perspective, the bank continues to boost its brand as a leading sports sponsor in the country.
