Appointment: Tanzanian side, Kagera Sugar, confirm appointment of former Kenyan League star and club executive, Ronald Okoth, as CEO

 

Tanzanian side, Kagera Sugar, have confirmed the appointment of for Kenyan League star, Ronald Okoth, who was Chief Executive Officer of KPL side, Sofapaka, as CEO.

Okoth brings his experience at Sofapaka to lead a new vision at the Tanzanian side, Kagera Sugar, which will campaign in the second tier Tanzanian Championship.

Back in July, Okoth stepped down as CEO of Sofapaka following his decision to join Kagera Sugar and announced on his LinkedIn account.

He said: “I’m pleased to share that I’ve officially joined Kagera Sugar FC in Tanzania 🇹🇿 as the new Chief Executive Officer.

‘Grateful for the trust and opportunity to serve an iconic club with deep roots and a rich footballing history. As we turn the page and begin a new chapter, I’m filled with excitement, determination, and a clear vision for what we can achieve together on and off the pitch.”

Kagera Sugar dropped from the Tanzanian Premier League and will be banking on Okoth to return to th top flight.

Unarguably one of the brightest retired footballers to have played in the Kenyan Premier League, Ronald Okoth has since move on to the boardroom as club executive from coaching.

Okoth played for several clubs in Kenya and retired to focus on his passion: coaching and talent development.

He bagged a degree from the Kenya Methodist University, while playing in the Kenya Premier League and added a CAF C Coaching Certificate.

Okoth is a fan of NaijaMade, a programme on SuperSport, that focuses on the Nigeria Premier Football League.
