Rafa Detergent, one of Nigeria’s leading detergent manufacturers, has made a bold move into the domestic Nigeria Premier Football League as front-of-shirt sponsor of former champions, Kano Pillars.
It is a Nigerian brand from the stables of Starium Detergents FZE, a subsidiary and major manufacturing investment of BUA Group.
www.sportsbusinessbrand.com learnt on Sunday that both brands have agreed a sponsorship. However, the duration of the contract is yet to be disclosed.

Pillars’ quartet of Fabian Nworie, Ibrahim Sani Halliru, Frank Onyebuchi and Shola Abdulraheem appeared as models at the event.
This represents a huge development for the Kano side after its previous sponsorship deal with media brand, radio france international during the 2025/26 season.
The company currently operates an 80,000-tonne-per-annum powder detergent manufacturing facility in Alaro City, Epe, Lagos and is on course to commission a second production line before the end of the year.
Rafa detergent’s brand awareness will get a huge boost with evergreen stars like former Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa and Rabiu Ali wearing the jerseys with teammates.
