Frank Onyeka’s Coventry City back in Premier League

Nigerian International, Frank Onyeka, helped his side, Coventry City, complete their return to the Premier League after Friday’s 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers.

Onyeka joined Coventry on loan in January and the deal also includes an obligation to buy should the club achieve promotion to the Premier League.

Coventry City secured promotion to the Premier League after Bobby Thomas’ header ensured the Sky Blues picked up the point they needed with Onyeka playing for 63 minutes before he was substituted.

Onyeka was instrumental in Coventry City’s successful 2025–2026 promotion campaign to the Premier League. Joining on loan from Brentford in January 2026, he strengthened the midfield, starting key matches under Frank Lampard.

With 75 Premier League appearances for the Bees, he arrived with a rich experience to boost Lampard’s side.
