With title favourites out of contention, the stage is set for the emergence of a new HiFL champion as KSU Steelers from the Kogi State University confronts FUOYE Dazzlers of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti in 2022 finals on Saturday, September 24, in Lagos.
KSU Steelers beat UNILORIN Warriors by a lone goal to send them to the finals for the first time in their history.
Unlike KSU Steelers, FUOYE Dazzlers made it to their first finals on technical grounds following the disqualification of DELSU Titans.
KSU Steelers have enjoyed a fairytale ride to the finals, seeing off overwhelming favourites like FUTMINNA Transformers, BUK Stallions, and UNILORIN Warriors, who won the Nigeria Universities Games Association gold medal earlier in the year.
FUOYE Dazzlers emerged top of their group in the Groups Stage and upstaged state rivals, EKSU Mountaineers, LASU Blazers before the clash against DELSU Titans.
UNILORIN Warriors and UNN Lions will meet in the third place classification match.
