Speaking during the distribution of the boots to the youngsters last Saturday, Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Bolakale Mogaji, praised the Super Eagles striker for his passion, generosity and sustained commitment to nurturing the next generation of football stars.

Mogaji, who assisted in the distribution of the football boots, described Awoniyi as a progressive partner in the development of young footballers, noting that his contributions extend beyond providing sporting equipment to creating opportunities for children to discover, develop and pursue their football dreams.

He reiterated the fact that Kwara State needs more individuals willing to invest in grassroots sports and support the development of young talents.

Chief Operating Officer of the Kwara Kiddies League, Ibrahim Jatto, expressed profound appreciation to the Taiwo Awoniyi Foundation on behalf of the league’s more than 500 young players.

“On behalf of the over 500 young players in the Kwara Kiddies League, I sincerely appreciate the Taiwo Awoniyi Foundation for its generous donation of football boots to our players,” Jatto said.

He noted that the foundation had consistently supported the league over the years through the provision of playing kits, meals and cash rewards worth millions of naira for outstanding players.

According to him, the latest donation represents another significant boost to the dreams and development of the children, many of whom aspire to build careers in professional football.

Career Pathway

Jatto revealed that the league’s growing visibility, supported by its subscriptions to innovative platforms is helping to create greater opportunities for players before a global football audience.

“With increased visibility through our league’s subscriptions on Wyscout and Eyeball, your continued support is helping create greater opportunities for these young talents,” he added.

Awoniyi, who serves as chairman of the Kwara Kiddies League, has continued to distinguish himself through initiatives aimed at strengthening grassroots football and providing young players with the resources and opportunities needed to develop their potential.

With the distribution of boots to 350 young players, the Taiwo Awoniyi Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to building a stronger foundation for youth football in Kwara State, while contributing to the broader ambition of discovering and developing the next generation of Nigerian football stars.

The ceremony was witnessed by Mrs Mary Awoniyi and Solomon Awoniyi, the parents of the Coventry City striker, underscoring the family’s support for the initiative and its commitment to encouraging young people through sports.
