KUNLE SONAME

Kunle Soname is a business mogul, philanthropist, football club owner and BookMaker, who hails from Ogun state, Nigeria.

Unarguably, the biggest private investor in Nigeria’s Sports Sector and the only Nigerian to own three thriving football clubs.

As owner of Remo Stars and Beyond Limits (a team with different age grades), in his native Ikenne, in Ogun State and Club Desportivo Feirense, in Portugal, he needs no introduction to followers of Nigerian football.

In fact, his ownership of CD Feirense makes him the only Nigerian to achieve the feat.

It is worthy of note that Super Eagles star and former Watford of England midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo, passed through Soname’s CD Feirense before his big move to Stoke City, in England.

Today, no fewer than four Nigerians play for the first team and others in the youth teams.

In addition, Soname played significant role in the progress of Remo Stars’ former youth team and head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, who has since moved to Feirense.

The move makes Ogunmodede is the first home grown coach to move from a Nigerian club to another club in Europe.

It’s no surprise that Soname is one of the most influential personalities in Nigerian sport.

His contributions to the development of sport in Nigeria include the formation of the privately owned league; The Creative Championship. A league owned by several youth teams within Lagos and Ogun States.

Beyond football, Soname has extended sponsorship to the development of Marathon as one of his company’s, ValueJet, sponsored the ValueJet Ultra Marathon, in Sagamu.

Remarkably, Remo Stars Sports Club is the first in the country to also own a Table Tennis team.

An avid lover of the beautiful game, who has invested billions in the business, Soname also owns the Betting brand, bet9ja, which is one of the leading betting brands in the country.

His football clubs in Nigeria, Remo Stars and Beyond Limits are managed as businesses.

The Remo Stars Stadium clearly underscores his determination to run the business using international best practices.

Remo Stars Stadium

The need to grow the Remo Stars brand and prepare players for the big move to CD Feirense led to the establishment of Beyond Limits Football Club and the construction of the Remo Stars Stadium.

Today, Remo Stars play their home matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League at the facility.

With the main bowl, two practice pitches, camp for players and a hotel in the premises, the facility is not only the best privately owned stadium, but also one of the best in the country.

Philanthropy

Soname is philanthropist who is involved in social development and has focused on education and youth skills development.

Beyond Limits, the youth arm of Remo Stars is one of the strategies he is using to boost youth skills development.
