Sporting Lagos, Akwa United get Naija Super 8 Wild Cards

 

Sporting Lagos and Akwa United have emerged as first and second Wild Cards candidates for the innovative NaijaSuper 8 tournament, in Lagos.

Both clubs were announced as Wild Cards entries during the draws in Lagos.

Sporting Lagos, a two-year old in Nigeria’s commercial centre, Lagos, campaigns in the second tier Nigeria football structure, Nigeria National League, while Uyo based Akwa United plays in the top flight Nigeria Premier Football League.

Sporting Lagos, is in the NNL PlayOffs as they seek to compete with other teams for a place in the top flight.

After missing the PlayOff, the Uyo side will turn attention to NaijaSuper 8.
