Fan Engagement: Rangers’ sponsor, Afrinvest, unveil fan rewards ahead of Ikorodu City tie

In a strategic push to deepen fan engagement and boost stadium attendance for table topping, Rangers International, on the last day of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League season, club shirt sponsor, Afrinvest, has unveiled unique matchday rewards initiative for their all-important fixture against fourth place Ikorodu City, on Sunday, May 24, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
Rangers need a win in Lagos to edge rivals Rivers United to win ther ninth league title, while Ikorodu City requires a win to push for a possible third place finish on the log.
The investment banking firm, which serves as Rangers’ official jersey sponsor, announced that supporters who register through its dedicated “Fans Gifts” campaign portal will stand a chance to receive free match tickets, replica jerseys and other branded items.
With this post on its Official X account, @Afrinvest: “This isn’t just another match. It’s the final match of the season, and we need every voice in full force as Rangers International F.C. take on Ikorodu City F.C. in a showdown that’s going to shake the stadium. Show up for the match at Mobolaji Arena and you could win free match tickets right there at the venue. Spots are limited, so lock yours in now.”
The post has a link which gets fans on a portal for registration with a question: “Would you be physically available to attend Ikorodu City vs Rangers International Fc Match on May 24, in Lagos at Mobolaji Arena by 4:00pm?
Since signing as club sponsor, Afrinvest has been intentional about its commitment to the club.
Group Managing Director of Afrinvest West Africa, Ike Chioke, said the initiative was designed to boost attendance and reward loyal supporters ahead of a decisive fixture.

“The gifts include 300 tickets, 200 jerseys, and special gift items for the first 100 Rangers FC fans to arrive at the 10,000-capacity multi-purpose Mobolaji Johnson Arena (formerly Onikan Stadium), Lagos Island, on match day,” Chioke said.

Shirt sponsor investing in Fan Engagement 
The initiative highlights the growing role of corporate sponsorships in enhancing fan experience and commercial value within Nigerian football. Beyond branding visibility, Afrinvest’s partnership with Rangers reflects an emerging trend where sponsors are increasingly investing in supporter engagement as part of broader sports marketing strategies.
Afrinvest entered into a three-year partnership agreement with Rangers in October 2023, with a focus on strengthening administration, player welfare and medical support structures at the club.
The collaboration delivered immediate results, as Rangers clinched the 2023/24 NPFL title, their first league triumph in eight years.

Heading into the season finale, Rangers sit atop the NPFL standings with 65 points and have already secured qualification for the CAF Champions League.
