Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria is set to honour no fewer than 20 top Nigerian brands and seasoned marketing communications professionals as it celebrates its 10th Brands and Marketing Conference and Awards, on November 25, at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The theme for the 2022 edition is: BRANDS AND THE ROLE OF TECHNOLOGY IN A DISRUPTIVE ECONOMY.
Leading brands considered to have touched lives in the last ten years to be honoured include DSTV, CMC Connect, Noah’s Ark, Oracle Experience (Experiential Agency of the Decade); Stanbic IBTC, (Financial Brand of the Decade.)
Folake Ani-Mumuney, will bag the Female Marketing/Advertising Personality of the Decade as Udeme Ufot will be awarded Advertising Personality of the Decade.
Nigerian Communications Commission, (NCC), is to be awarded Regulator of the Decade, Milo to bag FMCG Brand of the Decade as MediaReach will be named Media Agency of the Decade, respectively.
In the annual awards category, Rabiu Abdusalam of the vast BUA Group leads the pack as CEO of the Year, with ARCON, Golden Penny Pasta, Ilyas Kazeem, Erhumu Bayagbon, Onga (Promasidor), Pepsi, Alat by Wema, Glo, Maltina Teachers Awards also among brands, bodies, personalities and campaigns slated for honours.
Others are Media-Fuse Dentsu, Black is good (Guinness), Loatsad, Verve (Interswitch), Trophy, Amstel Malta and Maltina Teachers Award (Nigerian Breweries)
The recognitions, which are aimed at paying tributes to the brands’ resilience in the face of several challenges in the Nigerian economic landscape, were arrived at through a rigorous nomination and scaling exercise.
The BJAN annual conference is a flagship event of the body of brand journalists in which seasoned analysts and informed stakeholders gather to dissect key issues facing the marketing communications industry and Nigeria at large.

Experts and brand analysts in focus areas and fields have also been lined up as panelists to discuss issues thrown up during the presentation.
The maiden edition of BJAN’s marketing conference held in Abeokuta back in 2012, themed: “Repositioning Centenary Brands to Align with Modern Realities.”
