To confirm their superiority, the duo remain unbeaten in the tournament.
The duo extended their lead on the league table on day 10 of the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League 2022 season 5.
Both sides head into the last day of the Premier League for matches that will not alter their destinies.
Safety Shooters have managed to stay close to run away champions, Pillars, in the men’s category, while Defender Babes, have maintained their second position.
For Kano Pillars, in the Male Category, they defeated stubborn Tojemarine Academy 25-23 to remain league leaders. Their match against Safety Shooters will be a dead rubber as they lead their rival with 4 points with them having 63 points as against Safety Shooters who have just 59 points.
Other matches in the male category saw Rima Strikers defeating Confluence Stars 21-20 to be on 4th position on the table with 48 points while Benue Buffaloes got a vital 28-23 win over Owena Kings.
Safety Shooters are rooted in second position on the log with 59 points as they defeated Police Machine 21-17 former champion Niger United worked hard to defeat Seasider Boys of Lagos 35-34.
In the Women Category, Safety Babes ruthlessly defeated Benue Queens 36-15 to remain on the lead and expectedly retain their title while Rima Queens kept hope alive to be on the top 3 as they defeated Plateau Peacocks 26-24.
Imo Grasshoppers finished in the top 5 as they defeated second place Defender Babes 27-23.
Matches started on Sunday, October 23 and the last round of matches will be played today.
