Still in the mood of celebrating its 55th anniversary, Nigerian champions, Rangers International, will hit the cinemas, in Enugu and London, respectively, for the premiere of its documentary.
This feat makes Rangers the first Nigerian club to premiere its documentary.
Interestingly, it also presents an opportunity to showcase the Rangers brand in the United Kingdom.
Under Amobi Ezeaku’s leadership as General Manager, the brand was showcased in Switzerland, where it cemented a partnership with Swiss side, FC Schaffhausen.
This documentary features interviews with members and officials of this iconic football club.
They list includes: former club and Nigeria captain, Christian Chukwu, former Nigeria goalkeeper, Emmanuel Okala, Sam Onyeaka, Charles Okonkwo, late Luke Okpala and the late legendary Julie Alale (Madam Rangers) amongst others.
Some of these players were part of the historic squad that won the 1977 African Cup Winners’ Cup (now CAF Confederation Cup).
Rare iconic footage of the team’s matches spanning the period 1970 through 2024.
Produced and directed by the respected historian, lawyer, author and award-winning documentary filmmaker, Ed Emeka Keazor, “Never Say Die! The Rangers Story”, will be screened on February 21, 2025.
The event in Enugu, Nigeria, is slated for the Centre for Memories, Independence Layout by 6pm and The Africa Centre, Great Suffolk Street, South East London, England.
